1. Who these terms are with

NEEDS COUNSEL — the contracting entity, company number and registered address.

2. Your account

You need an account to use most of OrganMatch. You must give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Accounts are for one person. If your colleagues need access, use an organisation and invite them, rather than sharing a login.

3. What OrganMatch is — and is not

OrganMatch is a reference and record-keeping platform for laboratory protocols. It is not a substitute for your own scientific judgement, your institution's safety procedures, or any regulatory approval your work requires.

Protocols are provided as information, not as validated methods. Many are extracted from published literature and have not been reproduced by us. You are responsible for assessing whether a protocol is suitable and safe for your work before you follow it.

Where a protocol carries a regulatory designation such as GMP or ISO 13485, that designation is displayed only once our scientific officer has verified it in a confirmed regulatory context. An unverified designation is never shown.

4. Protocols you contribute

You keep ownership of protocols you contribute. By contributing, you grant us a licence to host, display and distribute them on the platform in line with the access terms you choose.

You must only contribute protocols you have the right to share. If your institution owns the work, make sure you are permitted to publish it.

You can withdraw a protocol. Withdrawal removes it from the catalogue going forward; it does not retract copies already downloaded, and the audit record of its existence is retained.

5. Protocols you access

A subscription gives you and your own research use access to full SOP content. It does not give you the right to redistribute protocols, resell them, or use them commercially.

Commercial use requires a separate commercial licence for the specific protocol. Holding a subscription is not a commercial licence, and holding a commercial licence does not by itself give you access to SOP content.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period already paid for.

NEEDS COUNSEL — refund policy, the EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers and how it interacts with immediate access to digital content, price change notice, and what happens to your data at the end of a subscription. Stripe requires a published refund policy before approving a live account.

7. Acceptable use

You may not:

• scrape or bulk-download the catalogue, or work around access controls
• share your login, or resell access
• upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload
• attempt to disrupt the service or access other users' data
• use the platform to design work that is unlawful in your jurisdiction

8. API and developer access

API keys are issued to your account and subject to rate limits. Do not use them to circumvent the access rules above. We may revoke a key that is being misused.

9. Availability

We aim to keep OrganMatch available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to take it down for maintenance.

Keep your own copies of records that matter to you. The lab book is not a system of record for regulatory purposes.

10. Ending your access

You can close your account at any time — see Your data. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.

11. Liability

NEEDS COUNSEL — liability limits and exclusions, and how they sit with non-excludable consumer rights in the EU and UK. Given clause 3, the scientific disclaimer needs particular care.

12. Governing law

NEEDS COUNSEL — governing law and jurisdiction, and any mandatory consumer protections that override the choice.

13. Changes

If we change these terms materially, we will tell you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use OrganMatch after that means you accept the new terms.
