Individual Brain Organoids Reproducibly Form Cell Diversity
Source Velasco et al. · Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA · 10.1038/s41586-019-1289-x
Abstract
Velasco et al. addressed the critical reproducibility challenge in brain organoid research by developing an optimized guided differentiation protocol that generates cortical organoids with consistent cell type diversity across individual organoids, batches, and iPSC lines. Single-cell RNA-sequencing over a 6-month culture period confirmed the reliable generation of all major cortical neuron subtypes.
