Abstract

Pollen et al. established cerebral organoids from human, chimpanzee, and macaque iPSCs to identify human-specific features of brain development through cross-species single-cell RNA-sequencing. The study revealed an expanded population of outer radial glia and human-specific gene expression programs in cortical progenitors, positioning organoids as a model system for studying human brain evolution.
