Abstract

Bhaduri et al. applied 10x Visium spatial transcriptomics to brain organoids and fetal brain tissue, revealing that while organoids recapitulate many features of cortical development, they also exhibit cell stress and metabolic artifact signatures not found in vivo. This Nature 2020 study provides essential quality assessment methodology for the brain organoid field.
