Human Brain Organoid Transplantation into Adult Mouse Brain
Source Mansour et al. · Salk Institute for Biological Studies, La Jolla, CA, USA · 10.1038/nbt.4127
Abstract
Mansour et al. demonstrated that human cerebral organoids transplanted into adult mouse cortex become vascularized by host blood vessels, extend axonal projections into the host brain, and form functional synaptic connections with mouse neurons. This Nature Biotechnology 2018 study established in vivo transplantation as a strategy to overcome organoid vascularization limitations.
