Abstract

Bortolini et al. modeled maternal immune activation in brain organoids using IL-6 exposure, producing ASD-like phenotypes including macrocephaly and GABAergic neuron overproduction that are rescued by IL-6 neutralization, connecting prenatal infection to autism risk mechanisms.
