Abstract

Laflamme et al. established one of the earliest efficient protocols for directed differentiation of human ESCs to cardiomyocytes using sequential Activin A and BMP4 treatment. The study demonstrated functional engraftment in a rat myocardial infarction model, providing foundational evidence for cardiac cell therapy.
