Abstract

Drakhlis et al. created heart-forming organoids that recapitulate the spatial organization of early cardiac development including myocardium, foregut endoderm, and septum transversum-like mesenchyme. NKX2-5 knockout organoids modeled congenital heart defects, demonstrating the platform's utility for developmental biology and disease modeling in a scalable format.
