Atrial-Specific Cardiomyocyte Differentiation via Retinoic Acid
Source Devalla et al. · Hubrecht Institute, Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, Utrecht, Netherlands · 10.15252/emmm.201404757
Abstract
Devalla et al. established an efficient protocol for generating atrial-specific cardiomyocytes from human pluripotent stem cells using retinoic acid during the cardiac differentiation window. Atrial CMs display characteristic action potential morphology and respond to atrial-selective drugs like vernakalant, creating a platform for atrial fibrillation research and drug screening.
