Abstract

Silva et al. constructed bi-chambered human cardiac organoids by separately differentiating atrial and ventricular organoid spheroids and fusing them to create an assembloid with distinct chamber identities. The resulting organoids form an atrial-ventricular boundary, display chamber-specific electrophysiology, and enable studies of inter-chamber interactions and congenital heart defects.
