Abstract

Giacomelli et al. developed tri-cell cardiac microtissues by self-assembly of iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, endothelial cells, and cardiac fibroblasts. The multi-cell composition enhances cardiomyocyte maturation and drug sensitivity compared to monoculture, providing a scalable platform for high-throughput cardiotoxicity screening in standard multi-well formats.
