Abstract

Moretti et al. generated the first clinically published iPSC-cardiomyocyte model of Long QT Syndrome type 1, using patient-specific iPSCs carrying the KCNQ1 R190Q mutation. LQTS1 iPSC-CMs showed reduced IKs current, prolonged action potential duration, and β-adrenergically provoked early afterdepolarizations, recapitulating the clinical phenotype and enabling drug screening.
