Abstract

Herland et al. developed a 10-organ linked human body-on-chip system where the cardiac module receives drugs metabolized by liver, kidney, and other organ chips. The fluidically linked system enables physiologically based pharmacokinetic predictions of drug distribution and organ-specific toxicity, representing the most comprehensive body-on-chip platform validated for drug development.
