Abstract

Giacomelli et al. generated tri-lineage cardiac microtissues from a single iPSC line containing cardiomyocytes, endothelial cells, and cardiac fibroblasts. Endothelial cells self-organize into vascular-like networks, enhancing cardiomyocyte electrophysiological maturation and providing a more physiologically relevant platform for drug testing.
