Abstract

Drawnel et al. developed a cardiac-adipose crosstalk model where palmitate lipotoxicity and adipocyte-conditioned medium induce lipid accumulation and contractile dysfunction in iPSC-CMs. Empagliflozin and metformin rescue the lipotoxic phenotype, establishing a pharmaceutical-grade platform for diabetic cardiomyopathy drug screening.
