Abstract

Chong et al. transplanted 1 billion human ESC-CMs into macaque hearts post-MI, achieving large engraftment with in vivo maturation and electromechanical coupling. The Nature 2014 landmark study demonstrated feasibility but identified transient ventricular arrhythmias as a key safety concern for clinical translation.
