IL-22 Promotes Intestinal Stem Cell Recovery in Organoid Damage
Source Lindemans et al. · Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA · 10.1038/nature16460
Abstract
Demonstrated that IL-22 promotes intestinal stem cell recovery via STAT3 signaling in organoid models of radiation and chemotherapy damage. IL-22 treatment expanded Lgr5+ stem cells and accelerated organoid reconstitution, providing mechanistic support for IL-22 as a mucosal regenerative therapy in GVHD and IBD.
