Abstract

Sampaziotis et al. (Science 2021) lieferten den ersten Beweis, dass Cholangiocyten-Organoids menschliche Gallengänge reparieren können. ECOs wurden in die Gallengänge von ex vivo normotherm perfundierten humanen Spenderlebern transplantiert (bis zu 100h Perfusion). Engraftment und funktionale Reparatur des Gallengangsepithels wurden durch Histologie und scRNA-seq bestätigt. Dieser Meilenstein bildet die Grundlage für laufende klinische Phase-I-Studien zur Organoid-basierten Therapie von Cholangiopathien.
