Abstract

Mun et al. (KRIBB Korea) entwickelten ein expandierbares hPSC-Hepatozyten-ähnliches Organoid-System mit speziellem Reifungsprotokoll: Kurzkettenfettsäuren (Acetat, Propionat, Butyrat) verbesserten die metabolische Reifung signifikant, insbesondere die CYP3A4-Aktivität. Dies macht das System besonders geeignet für Drug-Metabolism-Assays und DILI-Screening, bei dem CYP-Enzymaktivität kritisch ist.
